Aftershock Exhibition by Dmitrii Volkov
Paris, Galerie LeSpace63
From October 27 to November 4, the exhibition Aftershock by artist Dmitrii Volkov will take place.
It continues the Trouble project — the story of a young man’s relocation and the birth of a new name.
Through charcoal on paper, Dmitrii explores the complexity of human emotions and the stories that connect the past, present, and future in a single instant.
Having lost everything, the young man expresses on paper the feeling of complete abandonment — when all that remains is an inner story, regenerating here and now into new chapters of life. By transforming the experience of loss, war, and fear through that of love, hope, and sensitivity, a pause is born between the words.
By drawing faces in charcoal, the artist brings forth a visible narrative on paper. These portraits do not depict real people, but rather sensations — symbolic figures that become characters impossible not to feel.
The Aftershock exhibition is a psychological portrait, a meditation on presence, and an exploration of how encounters and choices leave their imprint on our psyche.
